Our Story

DailyPressUK.co.uk was founded by Atlantic Quay Media Ltd. in response to a clear gap in the British media landscape: the need for a UK-focused daily editorial platform that pairs deep British subject knowledge with an international perspective on the forces shaping the country.

Readers in the United Kingdom are served by many established news organisations, but too often the coverage of politics, business, culture and technology is either insular or imported from a foreign editorial standpoint. We saw an opportunity to build something different: a publication rooted in British experience, but informed by a global understanding of how political decisions, market changes, cultural trends and technological developments affect people, businesses and institutions across the UK.

Our editorial philosophy

Under the leadership of Editor-in-Chief Jonathan Whitmore, our editorial philosophy is straightforward. We report on UK news, public debate, politics, business, the economy, culture, working life, technology and current affairs with rigour, independence and a commitment to factual accuracy. We do not chase clicks at the expense of context. We do not treat complexity as a weakness. Our aim is to provide readers with analysis and reporting that helps them understand not just what is happening, but why it matters.

Jonathan Whitmore holds overall editorial responsibility for the UK market, including publication decisions, editorial policy, source review, corrections, ethical guidelines, transparency routines and quality assurance. He ensures that every piece of content published on DailyPressUK.co.uk meets our standards before it reaches our audience.

How our desk structure works

Our editorial operation is organised around a clear, accountable desk structure. The UK Managing Editor, Eleanor Grant, oversees daily editorial planning for UK coverage, news prioritisation, the publishing schedule, article production, and coordination between writers, editors and research staff.

Specialist editors lead our core coverage areas:

  • Thomas Bennett, Politics & Public Affairs Editor – British politics, public institutions, policy debate, government agencies, civil society and social affairs.
  • Olivia Hart, Business & Economy Correspondent – The British economy, business, the labour market, consumer affairs, finance-related social topics and company news.
  • William Fraser, Culture & Lifestyle Editor – British culture, lifestyle, media, entertainment, travel, consumer trends and the changing cultural landscape.
  • Charlotte Reeves, Standards & Fact-Checking Lead – Fact-checking, source verification, corrections processes, editorial standards, transparency, and review of sensitive content.

This structure ensures that every article benefits from specialist oversight and that editorial decisions are made by journalists with direct responsibility for their beat. For full profiles of our team, visit the Our Team page.

What readers can expect

Readers of DailyPressUK.co.uk can expect original reporting, clear analysis and a commitment to transparency. We cover subjects that matter to people in the UK: how government policy affects households, how market changes alter industries, how cultural shifts reshape communities, and how technology influences working life. We combine British subject coverage with an international publishing perspective, drawing on insights from outside the UK where they add value to domestic debates.

We also maintain a rigorous approach to standards. All published editorial content is reviewed by a human editor before publication, even where digital tools support research, editing, formatting or content review. Our fact-checking policy and corrections policy are published openly, and we encourage readers to hold us accountable.

How we are funded

Atlantic Quay Media Ltd. intends to keep DailyPressUK.co.uk financially sustainable through transparent funding arrangements. Our revenue comes from advertising, commercial partnerships and clearly labelled sponsored content. Editorial decisions are made independently of commercial interests; sponsors and advertisers never influence our coverage unless content is explicitly marked as sponsored.
